The multi-platinum selling, award-winning Keywest, performed live and exclusively for Tipi residents.
The talented 4-piece band who started life busking in Ireland have amassed a huge following. They’ve gone on to sell out tours across the UK and Ireland and are fresh from supporting Paul Simon in Hyde Park Calling as well as bands like Kodaline, Bartolle and Bryan Adams.
The International Busking Day headliners were all set to perform in Alto’s private gardens and though the Great British weather had other ideas – we just took the party inside. The free bar, tonnes of residents and that Friday feeling, made it a gig to remember. Keywest put on a massively enthusiastic show with their eclectic mix of folk, rock and pop. They played Save My Soul, Something Beautiful as well as an incredible cover of California Loving by 2pac. See how the gig went here.
This evening was a curtain raiser to International Busking Day, which has moved to Wembley Park from Trafalgar Square supported as ever by the Mayor of London. The day saw performers in cities across six continents unite with musicians in London for a celebration of busking and street performance. They took over Wembley Park for the day, filling the area with music, magic, comedy, physical theatre and dance.
Thanks go out to Kate at the GLA and to the Keywest guys. We hope to see you back here soon.
